Going For the Goal

02/05/2016

goal

Today is a wonderful day! Bright sun, crisp air! Joy in my heart!  That wasn’t my story a few days ago, frustrations had appeared, fears were trying to surface, uncertanties had come into play.  We have these kinds of days and all kinds of other ups and downs. Ups and downs can pull us away from goals.  I have let myself be distracted the last couple of weeks.  My goals have continued to tug at my heart. I have been asking God to help me get going again, to not let me be tossed about by the waves of life.  I have let distractions guide me, instead of seeking for God’s guidance. God promises good and hope for us, he promises to equip us, he promises new mercies each day, and he promises His joy in the morning. I really desire to follow God believing in his plans for me.

I heard yesterday by this time of year, many to most have abandoned their new year’s resolutions/goals.  Distractions, fears, or maybe lack of desire to put in the hard work have taken over and have caused discouragement.  Obstacles that seem impossible to overcome pull us away and hinder us from pursuing goals and dreams. Doubts and fears can cloud our thinking.  Then there is the whole time thing, “when or where will I find the time/resources for …”  We fall to obstacles so quickly.  We begin to let each day pass by and let the sweetness of the new wear off. Just beginning the second month of the year, hopes and goals are being let go.  Oh, that at this moment we would open our eyes to the power of God and take our eyes off our limitations!  In this moment we need to seek the Lord.

God makes a new day, every day!  Even if a goal was started, and then things happened and it was pushed aside it can be picked up again! God is there with a new day for each one of us to keep trying!  Failures do occur, we are not perfect.  God knows our hearts and is ever present waiting to help us start anew!  Things don’t always go as we planned.  That is ok!  It is ok to have made mistakes, get back up and try again!  There is always hope with Jesus!

God has so much for us, we need to closely walk with him.  Maybe at this point if a goal has been given up, we need to ask -“was this a goal from you God?” if it is, ask God for renewed strength and vigor to continue to press forward.  Or if it was a goal that was decided upon with out seeking God first, stop and ask him what goals he has planned, then ask him to bring revelation and provision for his plans.  God speaks to us in the book of James saying, “If you lack wisdom you should ask God who gives generously without finding fault and it will be given to you.”

We have victory in Jesus to accomplish and bring glory to God!  Seek God for his promises, ask him for help to overcome fear, ask for help to trust Him with all your heart, ask him for provision and resources.  Most importantly, remember kingdom work is not accomplished on our own, or from our own strength.  We must lean fully on Jesus as we move forward, trusting him, seeking him for direction at each point. God can do more than we can ask or imagine!  Let’s pray with believing hearts! He never tires! He loves us completely all the time!  If you have a goal in your heart that you are working on or want to pursue, start asking God for the help to start or the help to keep going! Dream big! Ask God about those gigantic dreams in your heart that you have no way of accomplishing on your own! God’s resources are lavishly abundant! Nothing is impossible for God!  Let’s ask for focus and vision to press on for the goal in Christ and keep shining his love with sweetness throughout #20sweet16!

God is excited to hear from You!!!

Love & Hugs,

Priscilla

Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more that all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever!  Ephesians 3:20-21

Now may the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, equip you with everything good for doing his will, and may he work in us what is pleasing to him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen  Hebrews 13:20-21
