I love shoes…high heels just make me giddy, complimented by any kind of sparkle! I do have a passsion for fun clothes and dressing up with my little girls, & shopping with my oldest daughter we have a lot of fun. My sweet husband puts up with me changing clothes… several times…before we go somewhere, & bears with me through the -this shoe or that shoe-, I love him more than I can explain!(my son does not share the clothing affinity 🙂 he loves movies, so more to come about that) So the title for this blog comes from this but also the belief that we are running for so much more than clothes or shoes, or any other earthly thing, no matter how fun they are. We are in a fast past society that can turn our focus to these material things instead of the true sweetness and everlasting joy that Jesus brings. My desire is to share the truly beautiful treasures in Christ in our daily sprints to work, home, church, dates, events & life happenings.
God has done a tremendous work of redeeming and restoring me and bringing me to this place in life. After some very tough times I was brought to my knees and began to make changes. Changes that I feel have eternal blessing. Building a real relationship with Christ began and continues. I was then so desperate to be “ok”, to prove worth, and be who I thought the world wanted me to be, “successful” and leaning on ideas of perfectionism. There were very broken places in my soul that needed Jesus healing touch. In this, my quest for identity and healing changed from one that tried to “Be Somebody” in the eyes of this world; to a quest to learn and become who I was created to be in Christ.
My mission is to stay focused running the race Christ has set before me, seeking the truth of Scripture, & most importantly sharing Jesus. I find this world moving at an incredibly fast and interruption filled pace. The speed of technology filled with dings, and buzzes that divert attention day and night, ever changing fashion, information bombardment, and health trends. I desire to live with a focus on Christ, who is the same yesterday, today, and forever. I have learned ways to be still with the Lord and keep my phone and shoes in check! While I falter and stumble at times, Jesus is always there to bring me back to the right path! That’s what I love about Him so much, I make so many mistakes, and He continually pours out his mercy and grace in abundance. The beauty of the Lord daily surrounds us, when we are seeking him and looking to find Him we do. We are each created with such exquisite uniqueness and deeply loved by our creator. He daily wants to pour His love into our hearts.
As this new journey of High Heel Sprints begins for me, I am so excited to share my experiences and thoughts on life and keeping the focus of Jesus the center of my life & ways to keep our focus on Jesus.
Some thoughts for today:
Ask God: to reveal any areas in life that need to be redirected to the path of Christ, so we may run with purpose and focus.
Ask God: to open your heart and pour His love into that you will be filled to overflowing.
Therefore since we are surrounded by a great cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us. Hebrews 12:1 ESV
I pray you are blessed with a joy and peace that fills your heart with a knowing that you are loved all the time by Jesus no matter where you are in life. His arms are always wide open to you!
